What can you do now?
You know the problems. You’ve seen solutions. Now what?
We believe the best course of action is the following:
-
-
- Gather testimonies from theatre artists to create an archive of first-person perspectives on why these practices are damaging and unethical – You can contribute your experiences to this archive by filling out our survey here.
-
-
- Create an overwhelming record of theatre artists who are opposed to these practices and believe that the time has come for change in our work environments. By creating this record, we can show producers and unions that this is a top priority for our theatre community that must be addressed in upcoming contract negotiations – You can contribute to this by signing our petition and encouraging everyone you know to do the same.
-
-
- Share this site and this information on social media to help create more public dialogue about these issues and why they need to be addressed. You can find and share our posts on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. If you’d like to become part of our social media team, please join our Facebook group.

- Most importantly, start this conversation with your fellow theatre workers – in person, on Zoom, through email, online, anywhere. The more people who can contribute their thoughts and ideas, the more we can all come together to create a new sustainable, inclusive and ethical theatre environment that everyone can work together in for many years to come.
